DURAN® vacuum exsiccator, NOVUS type (NS 24/29), without porcelain plate, DN 200 The DURAN® exsiccator is a laboratory vessel suitable for vacuum, with a ground-glass lid, which is used for storing moisture-sensitive substances and for drying moist products. Separated by a perforated plate (made of metal or porcelain), a drying agent is placed in the lower part of the exsiccator base; it binds the moisture of the substance to be dried, placed on the perforated plate. To accelerate the drying process, a vacuum can optionally be connected, as the liquid evaporates faster in the exsiccator due to the lower pressure. The vacuum is applied via a stopcock connection. To make it easier to loosen the lid, the plane joint of the exsiccator must be well greased, as after evacuation the lid is pressed onto the base. All DURAN® exsiccators are vacuum-resistant, i.e. they can be used up to the technically maximum possible vacuum. Special properties and advantages: Due to the substantial wall thickness and the precise processing of the vacuum-tight ground joints on the lid and base, storage under vacuum is possible even over a longer period By connecting a vacuum to the stopcock, the drying process can be accelerated Suitable for full vacuum (0 mbar) Spare parts such as lids, bases, stopcocks and closures are compatible and can be exchanged as desired (observe DN) Available with or without porcelain plate Application: Ideal for removing moisture from solids, storing moisture-sensitive materials over long periods, for applications requiring vacuum drying, drying materials, safe working under vacuum
