DURAN® centrifuge glass, round bottom, 25 ml, Ø 24 x 100 mm One of the most important basic process engineering methods is the separation of substance mixtures. This working method includes centrifugation, which makes use of the concept of inertia. A substance mixture to be separated is filled into centrifuge glasses, placed in a centrifuge and set in rotation. Due to the high rotational speed, heavier particles are pushed outward faster and farther than lighter ones. This achieves substance separation based on the mass or density of the individual substance components.
