The scope of application of this apparatus ranges from determining the flow rate of metallic powders to carbide powders that flow freely through the outlet opening of a standardized funnel. The time in which 50 g of a metallic powder flows through the outlet opening of the calibrated funnel is measured. The device is widely used in the area of "Additive Manufacturing" (3 D printing) for the inspection of raw materials.
