SONOCOOL now combines the process-accelerating effect of ultrasound with simultaneous cooling of the samples. In the histological assessment of samples, e.g. in oncology, bone decalcification is an important process step, since only decalcified samples can be prepared free of artefacts for subsequent diagnosis. Compared with conventional procedures, the previously lengthy process can now be significantly accelerated by ultrasound. At the same time, the morphological structure of the samples is preserved by the integrated cooling. This prevents an inferior specimen and the resulting difficult or impossible diagnosis. The findings are available more quickly.
