DURAN® vacuum desiccator, NOVUS type (NS 24/29), without porcelain plate, DN 300 The DURAN® desiccator is a vacuum-compatible laboratory vessel with a ground-glass lid, used for storing moisture-sensitive substances and for drying moist products. Separated by a perforated plate (made of metal or porcelain), a drying agent is placed in the lower part of the desiccator base, which binds the moisture of the substance to be dried, placed on the perforated plate. To accelerate the drying process, a vacuum can be connected if required, as the liquid evaporates faster due to the lower pressure in the desiccator. The vacuum is applied via a stopcock connection. To make it easier to loosen the lid, the flat ground joint of the desiccator must be well greased, as after evacuation the lid is pressed onto the base. All DURAN® desiccators are vacuum-resistant, i.e. they can be used up to the technically maximum possible vacuum. Special features and benefits: Due to the substantial wall thickness and the precise processing of the vacuum-tight ground joints on the lid and base, storage under vacuum is possible even over a longer period By connecting a vacuum to the stopcock, the drying process can be accelerated Suitable for full vacuum (0 mbar) Spare parts such as lids, bases, stopcocks and closures are compatible and can be exchanged as required (observe DN) Available with or without porcelain plate Application: Ideal for removing moisture from solids, storing moisture-sensitive materials over long periods, for applications requiring vacuum drying, drying materials, safe working under vacuum
