Opening the tap activates the eye wash function; the protective caps that protect the nozzles from dust and contamination automatically fall off due to the water pressure, and the eye wash is immediately ready for use. A push button on the eye wash, which can be activated by pressing it, enables switching between the eye wash and aerated water jet. This means that the tap can still be used normally with the eye wash installed, without having to remove the eye wash. When the tap is closed, the system automatically switches back to the eye wash function, so that the shower function is immediately available in an emergency.
