The multi-zone sampler is particularly useful in situations where the composition of the material changes with depth or across the area and a single sample is not sufficient to characterise the entire material accurately. After collection, the target-point samples can be analysed individually to examine variability within a material or between different material layers, or they can subsequently be mixed to obtain a composite sample representative of the entire material. Turn the handle of the multi-sampler clockwise; the multi-sampler is now closed and can be inserted into the powder/granules. At the desired depth, turn the handle on the sampler anticlockwise. The collection chambers open and fill with sample. By turning the handle clockwise again, the sampler is closed once more and can be removed from the powder/granules.
