  • DURAN® desiccator with knob lid, DN 100 The DURAN® desiccator is a vacuum-suitable laboratory vessel with ground joint lid, used for storing moisture-sensitive substances and for drying moist products.
  • Separated by a sieve plate (made of metal or porcelain), a drying agent is placed in the lower part of the desiccator base;
  • it binds the moisture of the substance to be dried, placed on the sieve plate.
  • The drying process can be accelerated by connecting a vacuum if required, as the liquid evaporates faster due to the lower pressure in the desiccator.
  • The vacuum is applied via a stopcock connection. To make it easier to loosen the lid, the flat ground joint of the desiccator must be well greased, as after evacuation the lid is pressed onto the base.
  • All DURAN® desiccators are vacuum resistant, i.e. they can be used up to the technically maximum possible vacuum.
