- DURAN® desiccator base, NOVUS type, DN 300 The DURAN® desiccator is a vacuum-suitable laboratory vessel with ground joint lid, used for storing moisture-sensitive substances and for drying moist products.
- Separated by a perforated plate (made of metal or porcelain), a drying agent is placed in the lower part of the desiccator base;
- it binds the moisture from the substance to be dried, placed on the perforated plate. A vacuum can optionally be connected to accelerate the drying process, since the liquid evaporates faster at lower pressure in the desiccator.
- The vacuum is applied via a stopcock connection.
- For easier removal of the lid, the flat ground joint of the desiccator must be well greased, since after evacuation the lid is pressed onto the base.
- All DURAN® desiccators are vacuum-resistant, i.e. they can be used up to the technically maximum possible vacuum.
